Yesterday’s news

Short tempers, short words
And even shorter memories
Short attention span occurs
Like school kids in assemblies

“They’re all full of shit!
And they’re all fucking rotten!”
By the time the seam’s split
It’s all gone and forgotten

Desensitised destruction
Of the common man’s mind
Wait for instruction
The blind leading the blind

Those three mice never got fed
Farmer’s wife chases their blues
Missing their tails, full of dread
Who cares? It’s just yesterday’s news.

Ten thousand starlings’ murmuration

Dip and dive, twists and turns
Forming shapes and sizes
That could never be learned

Plumaged joy for all to see
As scornful sky criticizes
Winged beauty so wild and free

An unmatched mystery to all below
Flighty festoon falls and rises
Without care, fear or woe

Elastic, electric, exemplified elation
Creating endless surprises;
Ten thousand starlings’ murmuration.

Much better here than not

For anyone that feels that
Their race is already run
That their ball is burst and flat
And they’ve seen their final Sun
When your grip is getting tired
And your grip is all you’ve got
If life leaves much to be desired

Remember…

You’re much better here than not.

Though the tunnel long and dark
Can seem impossible to fight
Every punch will make a spark
For you to guide toward the light
No matter what may lay ahead
If every hope and dream seems shot
There’s another path that you can tread

Because you are loved…

And you’re much better here than not.

Interred-Galactic

“The more you learn,

The less you know.”

Scorned the Galaxy, stern

To her Stars as they glow

Glimmer.

Star bursts, “The irony isn’t lost

On me. I’m still a bright spark.”

Not realising the cost

Of stardust culminating in dark.

Dimmer.
